As a young teenager K-Lea was surrounded by Yogis via her
mother, June LaSalvia, who was her first teacher in 1983.
She narrowed her focus to only Iyengar Yoga when she was
pregnant with her daughter, Chelsea. Seeking to dive deeper
into the minutia of alignment, K-Lea began training for Iyengar
certification and teaching full-time in 1990. She is Iyengar
certified at the Intermediate Junior Level II.
K-Lea has studied with the Iyengar family in Pune, India
several times and continues her professional education through
ongoing studies with many inspiring teachers, including Chris
Saudek, Patricia
Walden, Mary
Obendorfer and Eddy Marks. Her instructor in TN is Jan
Campbell of The Yoga Center of Nashville.
K-Lea
teaches classes for all levels from new beginners to advanced pratitioners
and teachers. She enjoys instructing special needs classes such
as pregnancy, restorative, and back care classes. She has taught
retreats and workshops in the United States and Canada, specifically
Hollyhock
in British Columbia.
K-Lea was the founder/owner of two yoga studios in Nashville,
Yoga Source and 12South
Yoga, both of which are still successfully sharing the
art of Yoga. She appears in the Gaiam Living Arts Video "Living
Yoga". K-Lea has modeled for Redbook and Fit Magazines
and appeared on both local and national television in the
United States. She has taught at several Yoga
Journal Conferences, New Age Journal's Body & Soul
Conference and The Southeast Yoga Conference.
